Deployment Homecoming August 2010: The S Family!

It was great to see The S Family back together again... Baby C was so happy to see her dad and gave him a big high five!!!

Okinawa Obon Celebration 2010

It's the Okinawan "All Souls Week" Celebration this week. It's a Japanese Buddhist tradition to welcome back the spirits of deceased family members for a reunion with their living families for a few days.

There was one in our neighborhood and they marched right past our house!

After craving Thai food for awhile now I decided it was finally time to learn to make it at home. I found a recipe online and it turned out great. Thai food is THE BEST!!! This one is Spicy Red Chicken Curry with pineapple.

We did a late Father's Day photo session for the P Family on a beautiful Okinawa morning. Mom got Dad and the boys matching shirts and they looked great!
