Coffee Casa

There's a wonderful little cafe called Coffee Casa located at Sunabe Seawall. After 21 months of living in Okinawa, I can't believe this was my first time going there. Here's a photo of their sign and a cafe mocha.

Besides their amazing coffee, they serve breakfast all day! They have the fluffiest french toast... it was so delicious it didn't even stand a chance at getting a photo, haha. I'll definitely be back for more coffee, french toast, and to take that picture.

Sakura 2011

We went to the North part of Okinawa to see some Sakura! It wasn't quite peak season but there were a few trees that already had some Cherry Blossoms. I was hoping for blue skies but it ended up being an overcast day. Instead of battling the washed-out sky, it worked as a clean white background. Take a look at the pretty light pink silhouette & dark pink center on these Cherry Blossoms!

Panda in the Middle

I promised a panda picture for a special couple and here it is! Now, everywhere I look it seems like I'm spotting pandas. I think I'll start a collection of panda pictures!

Running at the Park!

Baby I and I stopped at the park in between running errands. She had a great time playing with the leaves and running around. You can see the genuine happiness and her natural curiosity. It's times like these I'm reminded of why I love to photograph children, toddlers, and babies!

I heart Art!

I've been getting into a crafting frenzy the past couple weeks so I thought of combining two of my favorite things. This led me to photographing my art supplies! I love all the colors in my watercolor palette.

Toddling at Toguchi

Baby I is growing up so fast! She had her 15 months photo session at Toguchi Beach and she toddled all along the shore. She had a blast observing the coral, playing in the sand, and overreacting as she got closer to the water, haha. Watching toddlers discover the world around them is so amazing!!!

Not Just Any 'ol Fire Truck

I loved hearing the story behind this fire truck. That's because it's not just any 'ol fire truck...It was a present from Grandpa S for Baby J about 25 years ago! There's so much sentimental value in this little truck and I feel so lucky that I had the opportunity to photograph one of my husband's childhood toys. If you look closely I think you can still see sand from Spain! Thanks so much for saving it, Mom S and Papa D!

Shurijo Castle

I've been to Shurijo Castle a couple times in the last year. Both times the Castle was under construction for maintenance. Looks like I'll be back a third time to get the photo of the whole castle and courtyard. In the meantime, I have some detail photos to share!

Don't Worry Be Happy Burger

Isn't this the happiest burger patty you've ever seen? I like to call it the Don't-Worry-Be-Happy Burger. Okinawans like to have their burger patties with rice. I think it's great! This is one meal that's sure to put a smile on anyone's face! Kinda makes the pasta look boring, haha.

Homemade Chocolate Souffle

A good friend made homemade chocolate souffle for dessert one evening. Even the hot fudge and whipped cream were homemade. Yes, it's as delicious as it looks!!!

Happy New Year!

During the holidays I visited Shurijo Castle. Here's a few photos I took of a Ryukyuan Dance Demonstration. I love all the vivid colors on her Bingata garment!
